I was listening to a conversation on Talk Radio this morning about introducing a minimum unit price for alcohol sales to reduce alcoholism, like they currently do in Scotland.
Well this assumes that drinkers are poor which isn't necessarily the case. Also, I'm pretty sure an alcoholic is gonna find a way to get that drink... regardless of the price, they'll just buy 'budget' alcohol instead of 'branded'.
This is just another example of "Behavioural Change" through regulation. Personally I say, leave it alone - We really don't need more regulation and using 'money' to punish drinkers is not a level playing field
